If you are out and about searching the web for information on diving, you are probably either already a diver, or thinking of learning. Learning is easy at Dive Masters, one of South Texas' oldest and largest SCUBA schools and retail outlets.

What is Dive Masters?

Well, we are an 8,000 square foot doorway to fun. As we say "WE DO SCUBA". We've been doing it since 1976. We have certified thousands and thousands of divers. And there are no limits. From eight year old snorkelers to persons in wheelchairs. They can all call the ocean their home in just a couple of weeks. We're a Pro Platinum Facility and have the largest pool for scuba in San Antonio (100,000 gal.).

You can take classes from beginner thru instructor, and obtain the best equipment including oceanic, aeris, cressi sub, mares, o'neal wetsuits, sea life cameras, tabata, and many others! We sell and service the best brands. We offer local, Gulf of Mexico and Carribean diving. We certify divers thru SSI (Scuba Schools Intl.) and HSA (Handicapped Scuba Divers Assoc.), but we recognize all certiifcations, NAUI, NASDS, IDEA, MDEA, CMAS. PADI, PDIC, LACC, BSAC etc.. So join us! We will take you places you'll want to visit over and over. And we'll make it fun!

ADAPTIVE SCUBA DIVE LEDER / BUDDY COURSE @ DIVE

MASTERS OF SAN ANTONIO SEPTEMBER 10,11,12 / 2010

A Course to provide Dive Leaders with the Specialized Knowledge and Skills Required to Teach

SCUBA Diving to Students with Physical Disabilities. Buddies will become able-bodied companions to divers with disabilities.

Upon Completion of The Course an Instructor Will Be Able to Competently Teach and Certify

Individuals With Physical Disabilities at The Open Water Level. Dive Con’s / Dive Masters will be able to assist Instructors, lead Diving activities and be able-bodied companions, Buddies will be ablebodied companions

Students Will Be Issued a Open Water Certification and Will Be Able to Dive With Other Able Bodied Divers.

Course Cost Dive Leader $440.00 (includes books and processing fee), Buddy $390.00 – includes book and processing fee.) Additional Instructor traveling expenses to be determined based on the number of participants.

Class Schedule- 2 ½ days. September (10,11,12)

Space is Limited – to the First 10 Instructors/ Dive Control Specialists / Dive Masters/ Buddies

INSTRUCTOR TRAINING COURSE

SCUBA DIVING FOR PEOPLE WITH PHYSICAL DISABILITIES

Course Objective:

To provide certified Open Water Instructors with the specialized knowledge and skills
required to teach SCUBA diving to students with physical and sensory disabilities. At the end of this course the Instructor will be able to competently teach and certify individuals with physical disabilities at the Open Water Diver Level.

To provide certified Dive Control Specialists/ Dive Masters with the special knowledge
and skills required to assist Instructors, lead diving activities and act as a buddy to students and divers with disabilities.

To provide certified divers with the special knowledge and skills required to act as a buddy to students and divers with disabilities.

Physical Assists
Simulated access to beach and boat
Transfers, grips & carries
Aquatic Abilities
Modified entries and exits
Surface swimming adaptations
Use of mask / snorkel / fins / webbed gloves
Buoyancy control
Weight distribution and hydrostatic positioning
Paralyzed limbs and prostheses
Assisted dives, descents and ascents
Regulator clearing and retrieval
Mask clearing / removal and replacement
Air sharing
Emergency ascents
Equipment removal replacement surface and under water
Modified communication skills – blind and deaf

Each candidate will assume the role of a paraplegic / quadriplegic/ visually impaired student diver.

Each candidate will assist the paraplegic / quadriplegic student / visually impaired

Ascents & descents
Ear clearing
Mask clearing
Air sharing ascents
Emergency ascents
Tired diver on the surface and below the surface
Entries and exits

Each candidate will assume the role of a visual impaired diver / adaptive buddy.

Hi Divers,
So, with all the unpredictable weather going around here, I decided to
put together a trip to a place where I can tell you exactly what the
conditions will be, no matter what the weather is. If you haven't heard
of Dive Valhalla, it is a decommissioned Atlas II Nuclear Missile Silo.
Once they took it out of service, it filled with about 130ft of crystal
clear ground water. It is great for diving in a controlled environment
if you want to get some different experiences. It's also a very unique
dive for your logbook, and you can literally "get the T-Shirt" which is
only available to those who have dove the silo. The site is a bit over
an hour North of San Angelo, and we will have the site all day Saturday
and Sunday (March 20-21). I am planning on staying in San Angelo Friday
and Saturday night. The best part of this is the price. For both days,
admission is only $60 per person! If there is interest, we could also
do some specialty courses up there (Deep, night, dry suit...) If you're
interested, contact me to sign up. Feel free to invite your dive
buddies along as well, there isn't a limit on the number of people we
can bring.

We will be sponsoring at least two trips out of Corpus to the 35-50 mile rigs. Space is limited to a maximum of four divers per trip. Cost is $210 per diver. Boat leaves at fist light and returns at three. You bring your own tanks and weights. Fishing allowed between dives. ONLY divers with either an Advance Open Water rating or ten logged dives beyond initial certification can do these dives.

Dates: July 25 (payment due July 11)
August 8 (payment due July 25)

All day July 4 (10 AM to 4:30 PM) we will be providing apple pie, Blue Bell ice cream, cold watermelon and root beer to celebrate the 4th. Come on by.

Dive the Texas Clipper! Aug 1, 2009 Cost is $160 a person for a two tank dive.. (tanks, wetsuits included.) Contact Dave Allen at 830-755-5470 to reserve a spot. Full payment due when reservation is made (non-refundable.) As we get closer we will try to organize car pooling and motels. VERY LIMITED SPACE!! You can alos call Bart Huffman at 210-680-5795. I need two scuba divers to cut some a few trees out of my lake front on Canyon Lake. It is not very deep right now since the lake is down. I have some good hand saws. They just need to get the limb

interested in getting padi cert fpr my daughter so she can attend a broadreach summer camp. she needs cert but can do open water dive at camp....referal...does that make sense??? we live in kerrville.
