First, SCUBA is easy. Much easier than most non-divers expect. Your experience in learning will be fun, educational and relaxing.

If you're asking yourself, "Self, why am I thinking about going underwater; only dolphins and fish belong there...?", you're in the right area, well, ocean. It's because there are so many beautiful and interesting things to see and experience; after all two-thirds of earth is actually water.

Throughout your life, you will undoubtedly have chances to visit places like Florida, the Caribbean, Hawaii and California. Even the nearby Texas Coast offers some spectacular diving opportunities. To take advantage of these opportunities, you will need to carry what we call a "C" (i.e. certification ) card with you. It is your ticket to the undersea adventure that so many of us marvelled at when the Cousteaus' first took us there. At Dive Masters we are in the business of issuing that "ticket" - your "C" card. We've been doing it for 22 years, and it is still an enjoyable adventure to us.

What do I need to get started?

Very little! When you register for a dive class, we will outfit you with some basics: a dive mask, a pair of dive fins, a pair of diving boots (to go inside the fin and make it more comfortable), a snorkel (we'll explain in class), and your text materials. Your cost? Hard to say, exactly, but on your first visit (physically or on the web) we can assess your needs, get you fitted with the proper equipment and get you in the water. When you begin your class and you want to change something ("I don't like magenta and puce fins."), no problem!
